Bernd Kortmann is Professor of English Language and Linguistics at the University of Freiburg, Germany, and, since 2013, Executive Director of FRIAS (Freiburg Institute for Advanced Studies). He has been long-time editor of the two international book series

Dialects of English as well as journal editor of
English Language and Linguistics.
