Kadar, Ahsan and their group of comrades, thrown together primarily through chance and circumstance, have no one to rely on now but one another. The difficult alliance is frought with disagreements on how best to survive their time on the run, and what sacrifices they're willing to make.

Rukis lives on a farm, where she spends most of her time working on art, caring for her animals, and hanging out doing tabletop gaming with her friends. She is a huge fan of old school D&D, White Wolf, and Warhammer, as well as studying and collecting exotic fish (Cichlids, mostly) and drinking a lot of Dr. Pepper. Her menagerie includes a rabbit, some fish, two wonderful dogs, and a whole mess of chickens.She is the author of Heretic and the Off the Beaten Path trilogy, which also take place in the world of Red Lantern.
