Effect of Seedling age and transplanting depth on aman rice under SRI

Food security has been and will remain a major concern for Bangladesh. Rice is not only the important staple food, it also provides nearly 40% of the total national employment, about two-thirds of the total calorie supply and about 50 percent of the total protein intake of an average person in the country (Bhuiyan, 1999). In Bangladesh, rice yield level is far below compared to that of many other countries (Choi, 2000). The experiment comprised three seedling ages, such as 8, 12 and 16 day-old seedlings and three depths of transplanting, such as 1, 2 and 3cm. BRRI dhan41 performed better grain and straw yields using 16 day-old seedlings with 2cm depth of transplanting in aman season under the SRI technique. The findings of the study would help to our rice farmers and researcher.

Il a obtenu son doctorat à l'université de Kitasato, au Japon. A commencé sa carrière au Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute et y a travaillé pendant plus de 14 ans avant d'être transféré au National Institute of Biotechnology en 2013.
