Ensayo del año 2018 en eltema Bibliotecología, ciencia de la información / documentación, , Idioma: Español, Resumen: El presente ensayo académico aborda conceptos que permiten comprender a las bibliotecas del presente y del futuro, desde su arista conceptual se trata el tema de las bibliotecas públicas como una institución social, sus funciones y la atención que le deben a los más diversos sectores poblacionales. Se hace alusión a las temáticas directa o indirectamente vinculadas con el Estudio de Necesidades informativas y la expresión de este estudio en términos de requisitos para el diseño de los productos - servicios que se brindan en las bibliotecas y centros de documentación de salud, servicios que deben estar dotados de un alto valor agregado y realizados de forma planificada, dirigida y controlada por los especialistas que tienen a su cargo tales servicios. Queda claro en este ensayo las razones por las cuales las bibliotecas en ciencias de la salud son bibliotecas especializadas y cómo estas se diferencian del resto de las de su tipo en función de un conjunto de características que las hace únicas.The present academic essay deals with concepts that allow to understand the libraries of the present and the future, from its conceptual edge is the issue of public libraries as a social institution, their functions and the attention they owe to the most diverse population sectors. Reference is made to the topics directly or indirectly linked to the Study of Informative Needs and the expression of this study in terms of requirements for the design of the products - services that are provided in libraries and health documentation centers, services that must be endowed with a high added value and carried out in a planned manner, directed and controlled by the specialists who are in charge of such services. It is clear in this essay the reasons why libraries in health sciences are specialized libraries and how these differ from the rest of their type in terms of a set of characteristics that make them unique.
