Kidnapped off the streets of the Phillipines as an infant, Sang's childhood has never been normal. Trained to kill from the first moment, all he's known growing up is death and violence, tangling with the city's gangs under the direction of his master Thomas and the biggest crime lord in the city, Don Minchella. When a job goes wrong and leaves a prominent Yakuza's debt unanswered for, Sang and Thomas suddenly find themselves on the wrong side of Minchella.

Ed Brisson is a comic book writer who first started to garner attention with his self-published crime series MURDER BOOK. He broke into the public spotlight in 2012 with the crime/time-travel thriller series COMEBACK (Shadowline/Image Comics). In the short time since then, he's written and co-created four other series published by Image: SHELTERED, THE FIELD, THE MANTLE and THE VIOLENT. Ed has also written for BOOM, DC, IDW and many others.
Alessandro Micelli began working in comics with Italian publishers Coniglio Editore and Renoir Comics. He has also worked in video games and with television production companies as a concept artist. He is a member of the comics group Brand New Nostalgia, with which he published KaboomBox, a collection of short stories. The Ballad of Sang is Micelli’s debut in the American comics market.
Zusammenfassung
Hit writer Ed Brisson (Old Man Logan, Cable) and
newcomer Alessandro Micelli present a homage to Takashi Miike films with THE
BALLAD OF SANG, the story of a child assassin raised in violence and out for
revenge after his master is murdered. When a mistake on a job brings the wrath
of Don Minchella down on him, Sang barely escapes with his life. While Sang
swears revenge for his fallen mentor, every gang in the city mobilizes to return
him to Minchella... dead or alive.
