The embargo of the Canadian National Railways on wheat shipments to Fort william-port Arthur is still in effect. The elevators at Fort William here a capacity of about busnels and over bushels are in storage there.
The Canadian elevators have been so busy drying damp grain which contains over 17 per cent of moisture, that they haye'not had time to work with the tough grain, which contains betjeen and 17 per cent of moisture. So much damfi° and tough grain has been coming into the market this year, that the universities of the Prairie Provinces and the Dominion Grain Research Council are nlanning, under the direction of the national Research Council of Canada, to undertake an investigation of the spread of prices between these and the ordinary grades, and also to study the effect of present methods of drying on the milling and baking qualities of wheat.
