Tout est singulier, tout est nouveau, tout est si étonnant de puis le commencement jusqu'à la tin des jours de Catherine, que, bien loin d'être surpris de l'incrédulité de ceux qui refu seront la croyance due à l'exactitude de ces anecdotes, je la leur pardonne volontiers, quoiqu'il y ait encore plusieurs mil liers de témoins des faits,qui y sont exposés. Je sens qu'il faut l'avoir été pour y ajouter tente la foi qu'ils méritent.
