Più avanzava nella lettura, più mi accorgeva di non esser mi ingannato; la quantità e la varietà delle notizie contenute nei due manoscritti mi tenevano incerto sul da fare; poi, acqui stata un po' di padronanza, risolsi di estrarre dal prezioso Diario tutto ciò che interessasse la musica, il ballo, la drammatica e in genere le feste di corte e della città.
