Harvesting dates The beginning and ending dates encompass the period in which the fruit is usually picked.
Marketing dates In general, the beginning and ending dates for marketing cover the period when the fruit is usually marketed by the growers in the specified area. The marketing dates do not represent the period when processed products, such as canned or frozen fruits, move into marketing channels. Fbr storage crops, such as apples, the marketing period covers growers' sales from storage. Far the more perishable crops, there may be virtually no lag between harvesting and marketing.
