Excerpt from Life at the Boarding Houses: A Preliminary Report
Chapter 7, by Mary C. Beaudry, is a detailed discussion of the results of archeological testing at the proposed Boarding House Park. The sampling strategy, which was based on intensive archival research, is first presented. Features and artifactual remains are then described and interpreted in light of the documentary research (chapters 4 through secondary historical sources, comparative archeological sites, and additional primary documentary research. Appendix C contains a complete catalogue of the artifactual material recovered.
