Mycology is one of the pioneer branches in the life science. Fungal endophytes are relatively less studied and offer tremendous potential of novel secondary metabolites for exploitation in medicine, pharmaceutical and agriculture industry. The book has been written to cater to the needs of researchers who is beginner and recognized in the field of mycology. The present book comprises five chapters which deal with introduction to fungal endophytes, isolation of fungal endophytes from medicinal plants, morphological and molecular identification of endophytes, extraction, purification and identification of bioactive compounds by spectroscopic techniques. This volume is of special interest to mycologists as a valuable source of information on the frontier area of mycology dealing with diversity, ecological effects, methods of assessment, potent and novel metabolites and bioprospecting avenues.

Dr. Dnyaneshwar Rathod PhD: Studierte Mykologie und Nanobiotechnologie an der SGB Amravati Universität Amravati, Indien. Er hat an der Nicolaus Copernicus Universität in Polen promoviert. Seine Forschungsinteressen sind Mykologie, Taxonomie und Nanobiotechnologie. Er hat mehrere Forschungsarbeiten in renommierten nationalen und internationalen Fachzeitschriften veröffentlicht.
