Über den Autor / die Autorin

Lou Peacock (Author)
Lou Peacock is lucky enough to have one of the best jobs in the world: 'Publishing Director of Picture Books' at Nosy Crow. She has a degree in English Literature from Oxford University, and over twenty years' experience in children's publishing. She started her editorial career working on novelty books, but has focussed on picture books and poetry for the last 15 years. She often puts her author hat on to write picture books for Nosy Crow and has a notebook full of scribbled ideas.

Lisa Sheehan (Illustrator)
From an early age, Lisa Sheehan knew art and drawing would be her career in one form or another. After studying BA illustration at Kingston Uni many moons ago, Lisa fell into the world of graphic design, becoming an Art Director for the Financial Times. After having her two young daughters she rekindled her love of illustration and enrolled on the MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art.

Since graduating she has illustrated a picture book by Margaret Wise Brown, which was shortlisted for the AOI awards, and her first picture book for Nosy Crow is Lionel and the Lion's Share.

Lisa currently works part-time at the FT as Senior 2D / 3D Visualiser / Designer (and all round image-maker). She gets her best ideas whilst out running and lives in Bedfordshire with her husband, two daughters and a huge daft ginger Main Coon cat called Chester.

Zusammenfassung

Lionel the lion ALWAYS gets the lion's share . . . until his friends decide that enough is enough!
Lionel the lion does NOT like to share. He buys all the best instruments from the music shop, all the smartest hats from the hat shop and all the brightest balloons from the balloon stall. But at Chloe's birthday party, Lionel goes too far . . . and eats ALL the cake. That's when Lionel's friends decide that something has to be done . . .
A simple story full of fun, exploring themes of friendship and the importance of sharing. The temptation to grab, snatch and keep all the best things for yourself feels very real indeed, and this cautionary tale, full of emotion, will ring true for children and grown-ups alike!
Lou Peacock's inventive language is a true delight to read aloud, and illustrator Lisa Sheehan fills every page of the story with appealing animal characters that children will love.
