In der Reihe PATAI's Chemistry of Functional Groups werden umfassende Reviews zu allen Aspekten spezifischer funktioneller Gruppen veröffentlicht. Jeder Band enthält herausragende Expertisen zu Theorie und Berechnung, NMR, MS, weiteren spektroskopischen Verfahren, zur Analytischen Chemie, zu strukturellen Aspekten, Thermochemie, Photochemie, synthetischen Ansätzen und Strategien, synthetischen Einsätzen und Anwendungen in dem chemischen und pharmazeutischen Industrie, zu biologischen, biochemischen und Umweltaspekten. Heute zählt die Reihe über 140 Bände. The Chemistry of Metal Phenolates behandelt Synthesewege für Phenole und Polyphenole (auch Calixarene), die wichtige Verbindungsklassen bei biologischen Prozessen darstellen, z. B. bei Alterungsprozessen, im Bereich Signaling und bei der Zellreparatur. Diese Stoffe werden auch zunehmend als Gerüst für Pharmazeutika und als Katalysatoren eingesetzt. Der vorliegende Band erweitert und ergänzt die Ausgabe von 2014.

Über den Autor / die Autorin
Jacob Zabicky is an emeritus professor at Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Beer Sheva, Israel. Earning his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry with Saul Patai in the 1950s, he has since worked and taught at many different institutions in Israel, the UK, Venezuela, Germany, Spain, South Africa, and the USA. Prof. Zabicky is currently a lecturer at the Jerusalem College of Engineering and a member of the steering committee for the Israeli Center for Powder Technology. He has edited volumes in the Patai Series since the 1970s, the most recent ones on the subjects of metal enolates and metal phenolates.
