It has been reported that lack of professional skills and knowledge were among the barriers faced by teachers in the inclusive education practices. It is believed that the research on autism in Malaysia as well as other countries should be expanded as an effort to provide some insight to mainstream teachers especially for those who have autistic students in their inclusive classes. This book, therefore, illustrates the predicaments that Malaysian teachers faced when having autistic students in the mainstream classes. This book also discusses the ways they cope with the inclusive environment and teaching materials used in the inclusive program. The major striking elements of this book are 1) characteristics of autistic students 2) intellectual ability of autistic students 3) general difficulties of inclusive education 4) teacher's skillfulness and receptiveness 5) environmental assistance 6) standardized pedagogy. This book will help general classroom teachers who have limited skills and knowledge on inclusive education, to fulfill the needs of these autistic and mainstream students.

Über den Autor / die Autorin










Nurul Husna Mohd Zuki is a graduate from International Islamic University Malaysia. She studied Psychology in her bachelor degree in the class of 2014 and continued with Master of Education (Educational Psychology) in the class of 2016. This book was adapted from her dissertation, the final product of her master's degree.
