This book will be a guide to understanding resistance against targeted therapeutic approaches for cancer using immunotoxins. It contains a detailed review of the history and development of targeted therapy. As well, it includes an in-depth description of the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in cancer resistance and several novel methods to overcome resistance. Each chapter discusses different aspects of resistance and covers all the factors that may contribute to resistance in cancer cells. Rama Shanker Verma, Ph.D., is Professor, Department of Biotechnology, the Indian Institute of Technology. Professor Verma specializes in the development of novel immunotoxins for cancer therapies. He has published 76 scientific articles, five book chapters, and several conference abstracts. He is an Elected Fellow, the Association of Microbiologists of India an Elected Fellow, the Society for Applied Biotechnology. He received the award for Excellence in Medical Biotechnology from the Society for Applied Biotechnology.
