An Exploration of Chronotype Variance in Narrative and Storytelling - Through Graphic Novels, Motion Media, and Film

The interaction of time and space in narrative and storytelling is often complex. Mikhail Bakhtin unifies these two central elements into the theory of a chronotype. This idea will be applied to demonstrate how chronotype varies within different mediums including graphic novels, motion media and film. Illustrations from films will be used to discuss variances in these art forms and how the observer is able to interact with the medium depending upon its classification as a narrative or storytelling form.

Award winning creative director, motion designer, illustrator, videographer, and graphic designer for various companies. His work has been featured in Galleries and publications around the world. He received his master's of fine arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design in Motion Design, and his bachelor's degree from Atlanta College of Art.
