SESION DOBLE

The two volumes that comprise Sesin doble (Double Session) by Carlos Saura, are co-published by La Fbrica Editorial, the Fundacin Antonio Saura and the Regional Government of Castile-La Mancha. Sauras drawings show the artist as he is: sharp, caustic, sometimes delicate and above all lacking any idealism, faithful to the constant features best expressed by his work, with his feet always on the ground, never resorting to rudeness or vulgarity and overflowing with realism and irony. Los pjaros and La vuelta a Eros en 62 dibujos are the works contained in a show offered by the Fundacin Antonio Saura in Cuenca, complying with Antonios desire to show Carlos's drawings and his cameras and photos in his centre. Saura has made ink and water colour drawings, occasionally using the collage technique. In this case, the artist investigates the images plastic possibilities. The intensified colour stands out and plays a leading role in compositions full of humour and spontaneity.
