The Mobility and Growth of Furniture Production Small Enterprises - A Study of Western Kenya

In the industrialization process of any developing country, every sector and sub-sector of the economy has to play its part. One such sub-sector is the Small Manufacturing Enterprises. The study entailed herein provides new insights into developmental factors within the furniture sub-sector that may be used in the formulation of policies, intervention strategies and measures that will enhance the sub- sector involvement in the industrialization process. The study reveals a significant association between enterprises mobility and its accumulated productive assets. Hence, the study suggests intervention measures that can be directed to the sub-sector in clusters to exploit the collective efficiency approach theory and the 'Fordist' mass production theory.

Degree in Enterprenuership, Msc. in Forest Industries Technology and has published books and papers. Prof kerre and Prof. Kibas supervised this work.
