The Research was on the Roots of illiteracy among the Maasai men in Kajiado North District in Kenya.The research targeted this group of people due to the authors knowledge of the group.The findings explains the major reasons of the target groups menace,what they have done to curb the vice,and how they are coping with the situation. The steps this group of people have taken to deal with their predicament,as well as their recommendations to the government,as what could be done to assist them.The governments actions towards the eradication of the vice among the group from the onset to date is also highlighted broadly on the research. The findings further gives accounts of the joint engagements of both local and International non governmental organisation on the fight on the eradication of illiteracy. The projects that have been put in place for this group of people to bridge the gap are also discussed herein. The author finally wounds up,by voicing his personal recommendation,according to the findings on this research on what could be done to eradicate illiteracy among the target group.

I was born in Thika town,north east of Nairobi,in Central province in Kenya,to Mr Fredrick Onginjo and Mrs Risper Onginjo.I was brought up in a staunch Christian background,of eight siblings.I underwent through the O level Kenyan Education and later moved to Europe for further studies.I am Bachelors of Social services.
