Walter Steiner, geb. 1935, studierte Geologie, Architektur und Bauwesen. Er ist als Direktor des Stadtmuseums Weimar und des Deutschen Bienenmuseums Oberweimar und als Professor für Geologie an der Universität in Weimar tätig.
