Dersou Ouzala

Dersou Ouzala est certes un film de Kurosawa (1975), mais c'est d'abord un livre publié en 1921 à Vladivostok. Arseniev a raconté cette histoire vraie d'amitié sous la forme d'un roman. Officier et topographe, il explorait en 1902, aux confins de la Sibérie et de la Chine, des régions encore inconnues des Européens. Une nuit, au coeur de la taïga, il rencontra un vieux chasseur gold, Dersou Ouzala...
L'oeuvre valut à l'auteur d'être honoré par Gorki comme le James Fenimore Cooper de la Russie. Cette réédition a été établie par Michel Jan, déjà auteur dans la « Petite Bibliothèque Payot » du Réveil des Tartares, de La Grande Muraille de Chine et de Cruelle est la terre des frontières.
