Mit seinem Projekt Ayreon hat der legendäre Multi-Instrumentalist, komponist, Produzent und Sänger Arjen Anthony Lucassen in den Neunzigern das Rockoper-Genre gewissermassen im Alleingang wiederbelebt. Seither erntet er regelmässig rieseiges Kritikerlob in aller Welt und feierte mit seinen Alben in zahlreichen Ländern Charts-Erfolge. Auf der siebten Ayreon-Veröffentlichung 01011001 führt Lucassen seine Musik über bestehende Grenzen hinaus und reanimiert gleichzeitig seine musikalische Herkunft.
