Am 15. Juli 2004 betrat Carlos Santana zusammen mit seiner Reihe ungewöhnlicher Gäste die Bühne in Montreux und gab unter dem Namen 'Hymns For Peace' ein Konzert mit einer besonders interessanten Setliste, die aus Songs über Frieden und Verständnis bestand. Zusätzlich zum regulären Santana-Lineup begrüsste das Pubikum Ausnahmemusiker wie Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Ravi Coltrane und Idrissa Diop und erlebte im Laufe der Nacht zusätzliche Gastauftritte von Angelique Kidjo, Barbara Morrison, Patti Austin, Sylver Sharp, Steve Winwood und Nile Rodgers. Diese hochkarätige Besetzung spielte bekannte Songs von Bob Marley, Bob Dylan, Marvin Gaye oder auch John Lennon.
