Informationen zum Autor Maksim Gorky (1868-1936) became one of the most trenchant observers of both the promises and moral dangers of revolution in Russia. He was forced to flee the country twice-once in 1906, as a prominent opponent of the tsarist regime, and again in 1921, as a vocal critic of the Bolshevik government.
