Zugleich ist er einer der schärfsten Kritiker der gegenwärtigen Weltordnung und des US-Imperialismus. Im Jahr 2010 wurde Noam Chomsky mit dem Erich-Fromm-Preis ausgezeichnet, 2014 mit dem Myschkin-Preis.
