Finite Element Modeling of Biological Tissues - Simulation of Poroviscoelastic Materials in Dynamical Process

Inglese · Tascabile

Descrizione

Ulteriori informazioni

During the last decade, finite element analysis
has been applied in orthopedic biomechanics and spine
biomechanics research widely. A number of finite
element methods have been developed to describe
mechanical behavior of soft tissues. Up to now, no
existing model includes large deformation, material
viscoelasticity and inertial effects, which are
important features of the mechanical behavior of the
biological tissue. This book develops a finite
element method that includes poro-viscoelastic
material behavior, finite deformations, inertia and
mechano-electrochemical effects for the modeling of
biological tissue. It covers derivative of governing
equations, numerical implementation, validation, and
finally application in biomechanics. This book should
be useful to researchers and engineers in
biomechanics for understanding mechanical behavior of
soft tissues in dynamical process, or
someone else who learns finite element method as well
as finite element programming.
