Il s'agit du tout premier ouvrage jamais conçu autour des photographies prises par un unique reporter de guerre SS, en l'occurence le SS-KB Roth. Bien que décédé en mars 1943, ce dernier avait laissé plus de 120 rouleaux de pellicules, autant de témoignages précieux pour les historiens et les amateurs d'histoire. L'album proposé contient plus de 600 photographies tirées des planches contact détenues par les US National Archives de Washington. Certains reportages qu'il avait effectués sont reproduits dans leur presque intégralité, donnant à l'ensemble une continuité proche de celle d'un film.

It is the first book ever devoted to the photographs of outstanding war reporter SS-KB Roth. Although he died in March 1943, Roth left more than 120 rolls of film that give historians and history lovers a precious account of the war. This album contains more than 600 photographs from contact sheets kept by the U.S. National Archives in Washington D.C. Some of Roth's reports have been reproduced almost in full, which gives them a cinematic sense of continuity.
