Tom Dumoulin (1990) is considered one of the best cyclists of his generation. Throughout his career, the Dutchman won two Olympic medals, two world titles and stages in the three grand tours, but his greatest achievement was his overall victory in the 2017 Giro d'Italia. A year after ending his career in 2022, at just 31 years old, Dumoulin embarks on a journey with writer and journalist Nando Boers to the places that marked his sporting career: Bergen (Norway), Monza, Oropa, Bormio, Stelvio (Italy), and Arcalís (Andorra). A journey in search of answers, of meaning, of understanding what place cycling has really occupied in his life. Along the way, memories of his greatest achievements and victories emerge, but so do the shadows: the scenes of defeats, falls, and rivalries that fueled his doubts, frustrations, and insecurities. Por sensaciones is the story of that purifying journey: a sincere and unadorned self-portrait of an elite athlete who looks back with lucidity and emotion. It is also, and above all, a declaration of love for professional cycling.
