This book is about the determinants of alternative energy technologies adoption and energy source choice of rural households. The situation of energy poverty exacerbates in rural parts of Ethiopia. Access to a clean energy source is limited in urban areas of the country and, most of rural households meet their daily energy need from unclean biomass energy sources. This heavy reliance on traditional energy sources has a numerous adverse effects, especially on women and children. Thus, in a country, where the majority of people use traditional fuel as a primary source of energy for cooking and lighting, identifying factors that determine the adoption of alternative energy technologies and energy source choices, help and produce valuable input for policy makers, practitioners and promoters working in the area to design and make relevant decisions.

I was born in Addis Ababa. Went to Addis Ketema to attain my secondary education. I have a BA degree in Economics from Mekele University. Also, I have got MA degree from Addis Ababa University in Development studies specializing in Rural Livelihood and Development. Currently, I am working as a university lecturer in Ethiopia.
