Teacher training is one of the components of the complex reality of implementing a Youth and Adult Education policy, and the main objective of this book is to analyze the training programs for teachers working in EJA, implemented by the state of Goiás in the 1990s. Understanding Youth and Adult Education as a distinct pedagogical field and analyzing it from the perspective of teacher training involves identifying the categories that define it and the theoretical references that enable the analysis of this object. The central axes defined in this investigation refer to youth and adult education and teacher training, analyzed in their interaction with the youth and adult education policy implemented by the state of Goiás through two federal government initiatives for teacher training: the Um Salto para o Futuro (A Leap into the Future) Program - Youth and Adult Education Series and the Parameters in Action for Youth and Adult Education Program, developed in the context of the 1990s.
