Dr. Varun Raju Thirumalagiri, D.N.B (General Surgery), FIAGES, FMAS (Laparoscopic Surgery), FALS-HPB (Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery), FALS (Advanced Hernia Surgery), is currently the Head of the Department of General Surgery and Academic in-Charge at St. Theresa Hospital, Hyderabad. He is the course director for a 4-month laparoscopic surgery course. Dr. Thirumalagiri has over 12 peer-reviewed publications in national and international surgery journals and has delivered numerous oral paper presentations at state, national, and international conferences. He has conducted many live laparoscopic surgery workshops for hernias and abdominal wall reconstruction (A.W.R.) at state and national conferences. He has received several prestigious awards, including the Best Surgeon Award from the Times of India, the Association of Surgeons of India Chairman Appreciation Award, and the ANBAI Best PG Teacher Award. His book, as an author, was released by the President of the Association of Surgeons of India (A.S.I.). Currently, he serves as the Vice President of the Hyderabad zone of ASI-Telangana and is a PhD board member of Osmania University, Biomedical Engineering, Hyderabad.
Dr. Thirumalagiri holds fellowships in advanced laparoscopic surgery and practices as a robotic hernia surgeon.
