SINGLE POWER CONVERSION BATTERY CHARGER FOR LIGHT ELECTRIC VEHICLES - A Simulation and Hardware Implementation This book presents a novel single power conversion battery charger designed for light electric vehicles, focusing on high efficiency, improved power factor, and reliable performance. The proposed system effectively addresses two major challenges in conventional chargers-conduction losses and the reverse recovery problem in power diodes-through the integration of diode rectifiers on both sides of the transformer and a series resonance circuit. By enabling Zero Current Switching (ZCS), the design minimizes switching stress and enhances overall reliability, while simultaneously improving energy efficiency. With its compact structure and simplified configuration, the charger is highly suitable for on-board EV applications, offering a practical solution for the next generation of sustainable transportation. Blending simulation studies and hardware implementation, this book provides valuable insights for researchers, engineers, and students engaged in power electronics, electric mobility, and renewable energy systems.
