Dominc Lieven fue profesor titular en LSE (1978-2011). Jefe del Departamento de Gobierno de 2001 a 2004 y jefe del Departamento de Historia Internacional de 2009 a 2011). Desde allí fue investigador senior en Trinity College, Cambridge (2011-2019) y ha sido miembro honorario de 2019.El profesor Lieven también es el presidente de la Junta del Programa Paulsen en LSE, organizado por el Departamento de Historia Internacional de LSE.
