Generation in Hazardous Areas

This handbook is aimed at Electrical, Instrument and Mechanical Technician Level.
This advisory book sets out to look at the difference between Generators and Alternators, how they work, what drives them and how they fit into our Hazardous Area. Fuels of the present and the future are also discussed along with their advantages and disadvantages.
As far as History is concerned Faraday's Disc Dynamo or Homopolar Generator as it was called and Heinrich Lenz's experiments with magnets and coils form the basis for these machines.
