In recent years, drug-based weight loss support has become a key topic in medicine and health research. New active ingredients promise lasting success in the treatment of overweight and obesity. At the same time, questions about long-term safety, potential side effects and the individual indications for such therapy are coming to the fore. While many see these developments as a milestone in the fight against the global obesity epidemic, others warn of the risks of too broad an application and possible social consequences. This textbook provides a comprehensive analysis of current and future developments in the field of drug-induced weight loss.
