The story of Hayat El mitly, a young man struggling to reconcile his true identity with the societal expectations of his conservative Moroccan environment. Faced with the fear of rejection, discrimination, and even violence, he embarks on a personal journey to understand and accept his sexual orientation.
As Hayat El mitly delves deeper into his inner world, he attempts to seek answers through religious texts, scientific literature, and online forums. However, the overwhelming lack of genuine support and understanding leaves him feeling lost. With each failed attempt, he realizes that he cannot change who he truly is. His journey becomes not only a search for personal acceptance but a battle for survival in a society that seems determined to keep him hidden.
Along the way, he meets others who are struggling with their own identities, but their interactions often add to his confusion. The virtual world offers him some comfort, but the risk of exposure weighs heavily on him, deepening his sense of isolation.
"When Rainbows Fade" is a gripping story about identity, the painful journey toward self-acceptance, and the courage required to face a world that insists on conformity. The novel explores themes of fear, hope, and the harsh reality of living as a marginalized individual in a society where the truth is often silenced.
Hayat El mitly's coexistence with HIV and his homosexuality forces him to live a life full of ongoing challenges and threats. He is not only forced to adapt to a society that rejects his identity, but he also faces the health and social risks that come with his situation. This reality drives him to consider migration as a means of escaping the increasing persecution. However, his attempts to secure a visa become a glimmer of hope in a dark tunnel, only for him to face a harsh surprise: the consulate denies him the visa due to his HIV status. This refusal heightens his suffering and isolation, leaving him trapped between the dangers and risks in his homeland and the disappointment of his attempts to escape to a better life....
