This work proposes a dialogue between Hegel and Goethe through an analytical-comparative reading of Goethe's The Apprenticeship of Wilhelm Meister and Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit. The Apprenticeship was born out of the formative novel that came from the Sturm und Drang (Storm and Impetus) movement related to romanticism in the second half of the 18th century in Germany. In this work, the journey of the young Meister through his apprenticeship years presents a literary context that makes it possible to understand how the young man's consciousness unfolded from the perspective of the journey of self-consciousness in Phenomenology. In this sense, the development of the young Meister's consciousness-of-self through his experiences enables a fertile encounter between Hegel's idealist philosophy and Goethe's poetic texture.
