Office-based  facial cosmetic surgery began in the 1960s and has expanded exponentially since then. The majority of clinics now have their own office-based facilities, and every elective aesthetic procedure from hair transplantation to abdominoplasty and breast reduction can be done as an outpatient procedure with tremendous increases in efficiency, safety, and time. Although the capital expenditure is high, the rewards in time, efficiency, and safety are greater. Patients can be seen before surgery, between cases, and after surgery with no loss of time. An office-based situation allows multidisciplinary approaches of specialties to startup teamwork. In addition, the patient's time is treated with the highest respect.

Dr. Behnam Bohluli graduated from Tabriz Dental school, Iran, in 1996, and completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery at the University of Tehran in 2003. He then started to teach at the university and practiced facial surgeries in the most prestigious centers of the world. He has several accomplishments, including being under the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, and the Canadian Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has published several books with his colleagues regarding cosmetic related facial surgeries. He became a visitor professor in the Maxillofacial department of the University of Toronto in 2015. With a great hands-on as skills and a well-versed academic background, he is an asset to SmilePoint Dental.

 

Dr. Suzan  Obagi has served as the president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, president of the Cosmetic Surgery Foundation, and vice president of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.   Dr. Obagi's academic commitments include serving as the director of dermatologic surgery for the residents in the department of dermatology at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as well as the director of the cosmetic dermatologic surgery fellowship. In addition, Dr. Obagi trains physicians from around the world on the latest in cosmetic and laser surgery. Dr. Obagi has written many articles and book chapters on skin health restoration, autologous fat augmentation (fat transfer), neuromodulators and soft tissue fillers, chemical peeling, dermabrasion, and lasers. Additionally, Dr. Obagi has been invited to give lectures to various medical specialists including ophthalmologic surgeons, facial plastic surgeons, cosmetic surgeons, oral  and maxillofacial surgeons and dermatological surgeons on many of these topics. While Dr. Obagi’s emphasis is on the scientific approach to skin health restoration, she continues to be abreast of the latest technological advances in cosmetic surgery including the use of the latest laser and radio-frequency technologies.

 

Dr. Ryan Diepenbrock is a Diplomate of the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  He completed an American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery accredited Fellowship in Facial Cosmetic Surgery in 2013.  Dr. Diepenbrock served as the 2020 President of the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery.  He currently serves as Secretary for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and is the Chair of Facial Cosmetic Fellowships for the AACS.  Additionally, he serves on the Subcommittee for Facial Cosmetic Surgery for the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.  Dr. Diepenbrock has published scores of articles, textbook chapters, and lectures in the field of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. He was the Program Director at David Grant Medical Center’s Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Program from 2015-2019. His practices focuses on rejuvenation of the face, head, and neck.

 

Dr. Shohreh Ghasemi

Dr. Shohreh Ghasemi is an innovative force in the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery, widely known for her cutting-edge techniques and profound humanitarian contributions. One of her most significant accomplishments came when she became the first-ever winner of the prestigious Baku Rhinoplasty Symposium in October 2024, a recognition that solidified her position as a leader in facial cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Shohreh Ghasemi was an Adjunct Faculty of the OMFS Department of Augusta University and dental faculty of the Royal College of Surgeons and the University of South Wales in United Kingdom & NASA Open Science Ambassador Dr. Ghasemi's career is not only marked by professional excellence but also by her deep commitment to giving back. As a dedicated volunteer with Mercy Ships, an organization that provides free medical services in developing nations, she actively contributes her expertise to communities in need.

Her extensive studies have given her a strong foundation, enabling her to develop innovative techniques that push the boundaries of modern cosmetic surgery. She is also a prolific author and speaker, having been invited to address global forums like the AMWC meetings, and Vegas Aesthetic Shows,.. where she shared insights on the latest advancements in aesthetic surgery.

In 2024, Dr. Ghasemi further cemented her reputation as a trailblazer with the publication of her groundbreaking patent in dentistry through the USPTO. This achievement underscores her commitment to innovation and her influence in shaping future technologies and practices in facial cosmetic surgery. As an advisor to top medical and aesthetic companies, her impact extends globally.

Despite her immense success, Dr. Ghasemi remains grounded in her mission to serve others. Her ongoing volunteer work with various non-profit organizations continues to create a positive impact in communities worldwide. She has demonstrated, time and again, this book, and all her accomplishments have been devoted to her beautiful sister ( Shima ).

 

Dr. James is dual board certified. He is Board Certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery as well as Facial Cosmetic Surgery. He also currently serves as a Board Examiner for the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. James is a Fellow of The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, The American College of Surgeons, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons. He has maintained membership in the American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Surgeons, American College of Surgeons, American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Medical Association, and the American Dental Association. Dr. James is proud to have served his Country in the United States Air Force Reserves as a staff surgeon for the Air Force and Army Maxillofacial Surgery Training Program for 10 years.
