It is estimated that Brazil's consumption of processed fruit exceeds 23 million tons, resulting in a huge amount of improperly disposed waste. This book proposes practical solutions to mitigate environmental issues and the costs associated with fruit processing, suggesting the reuse of waste in the production unit itself. Approaches such as thermal processes, electricity production and the creation of marketable by-products are discussed in detail, highlighting the possibility of exporting the energy surplus produced.By demonstrating the numerous applications for the reuse of agro-industrial fruit waste, this book positions itself as a promising alternative for industrial innovation, minimizing environmental damage and promoting health and quality of life for future generations through the sustainable use of resources.

The author holds a master's degree in Environmental Science and Technology from the University of Pernambuco (UPE). He has a degree in Geography from the Catholic University of Pernambuco and specializations in Geoprocessing (FUI/MG) and Tourism, Environment and Sustainability (PUC-MG). He is currently a professor at the Federal Institute of Sertão Pernambucano.
