Hazardous Waste - Confronting the Challenge

This is an analysis of the 1984 Hazardous and Solid Waste Amendments, the successor to the 1976 Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), and, perhaps, the most important environmental law of the past decade and a half. It shows how the new legislation broadened the size of the regulated community, explains the new responsibilities for polluters not previously covered by the law, and outlines the new, more stringent requirements concerning every aspect of hazardous and solid waste management.
