As followers of Jesus, we often think that the most important thing that we can do in our lifetime is to make sure that we "know Jesus", right? Also, we want to make sure that others "know Jesus". Shouldn't that be our goal? Shouldn't our goal be to make sure that we know Jesus and to make sure that others we encounter know Jesus? That is certainly a great goal, but is it the most important question that we can ask? Is there a better question, a deeper question, that we should ask? I believe there is a better question that we need to start asking - WILL JESUS KNOW ME? WILL JESUS KNOW YOU?
"Knowing Jesus" is a great starting place, but being "known by Jesus" should be the ultimate goal for each of us as Christ followers, and it should be the ultimate goal for all those that we tell and teach about Jesus. In Matthew 7, Jesus gives a warning for those that think they know Him, while He doesn't know them. The purpose of this book is to provide a blueprint of what we can do to be known by Jesus! I hope it ignites a desire within us to strive each day to be known more and more - so that on that day of judgement, we will hear Jesus tell us that He knows us!
