Across a nearly thirty-year career he released six solo albums and countless collaborations with artists including Thom Yorke, Damon Albarn, Beth Gibbons, Flying Lotus, Kanye West and Ghostface Killah. His 2004 collaboration with L.A. producer Madlib, entitled Madvillany, is widely considered to be one of the greatest ever rap albums, and his 2005 album The Mouse and the Mask sold a staggering 350,000 copies, further solidifying his underground status while vaulting him onto the Billboard charts. DOOM might not have reached the top of the charts but he did evolve into an icon, carving his own unparalleled space within hip-hop.
