Hoppy the Magpie

Hoppy the little Magpie was born different to other magpies. One leg did not work properly, so she was forced to hop along.This story tells how Hoppy learnt to survive with being slower than her sister, how her parents turned their backs on her and how she overcame every hurdle thrown at her with the help of some kind humans. Hoppy's life in the backyard of a country home brings lots of shocks and surprises!

Bronwyn has always had a love for animals. She grew up with a dog, cats and a horse, and even reared a little joey kangaroo. In times of drought in South Australia she noticed that her local magpies were struggling to find food, so she helped them out by feeding them, and from this time on they became great friends. Bronwyn believes that humans are here to watch over all the creatures on this planet."We all need each other. Hoppy Magpie just needed me more."
