Representation of the typical characters El Coraza and Chaqui Capitán - Making cultural memory and transmitting it to new generations is a way to preserve our identity

Cultural memory is an important factor to build cultural identity in the present (Rosas, 2008), which is why the representation of the typical costume of the characters "Coraza" and "Chaqui Capitán" and its exhibition in public events, allows to promote the culture and tradition of the province of Imbabura. The representation of the characters "Coraza" and "Chaqui Capitán", through the design and elaboration of the "giants" is an alternative to promote and transmit the indigenous culture of the province of Imbabura to the general public.
