Higher education is defined as any type of education provided in post-secondary institutions of learning. Higher education system includes universities and colleges in fields such as law, theology, medicine, business, music, and art. It also includes teacher-training schools, junior colleges and institutes of technology. Some of the upcoming trends in higher education systems are learning from everywhere, replacing lectures with active learning, teaching skills relevant in a changing world, and increasing the use of formative assessment instead of traditional examinations. Learning from everywhere means that the learners are able to learn through a hybrid model, using a combination of virtual and live physical classes. Another important aspect of higher education is the focus on learning skills that are in demand and will help the learners earn well.
