An exploration of pandemic-related crises and current political attacks imperiling women’s, gender, and LGBTQIA+ academic studies programs around the globe.
WSQ Pandemonium documents a global surge in attacks on feminist and queer studies originating in rightwing movements, authoritarian regimes, and the chaos generated by the COVID-19 pandemic. Featuring research, personal narratives, creative works, and interviews with scholars and leaders of embattled academic programs located in the U.S. and around the world, this issue creates space for reflection, collaboration, and resistance.


Info autore

Tracey Jean Boisseau is a historian and associate professor as well as former director of women’s, gender, and sexuality studies at Purdue University. Coeditor of Feminist Legal History, Gendering the Fair, and a special issue of the NWSA Journal, Boisseau is also author of White Queen (Indiana University Press, 2004) and more than two dozen interdisciplinary articles and chapters on the historical and transnational production of feminist identity.
Adrianna Ernstberger is assistant professor of history and chair of the Department of History and Global Studies at Marian University in Indianapolis. She received her doctoral degree in global history from Purdue in 2017. She researches the social, political, and institutional history of transnational women’s movements, with special focus on the Global South and the history of the development of women’s and gender studies.
