Dave's relationship with the Lord grew through being the primary caregiver for his late wife, Cindy, through her thirty-seven year battle with multiple sclerosis. Dave has three children with Cindy and seven grandchildren. He and his wife, Marcia, live in Woodland Park, Colorado. Dave has served on the Boards of Choices, the local crisis pregnancy center, as well as Emmaus Fellowship.
