A guidebook to two long-distance trails in Northumberland - St Oswald's Way (156km, 97 miles) and the Northumberland Coast Path (100km, 62 miles). Exploring the Northumberland National Park and Northumberland Coast AONB, the walks are suitable for reasonably fit walkers and can be enjoyed year-round.


  • St Oswald's Way between Heavenfield and Lindisfarne (Holy Island) is presented in 7 stages between 12 and 29km (7-18 miles) in length

  • Northumberland Coast Path can be tackled in 6 stages of 12-24km (7-15 miles) between Creswell and Berwick-upon-Tweed

  • Parts of the trails overlap so can be combined to form a 177km (110 mile) route

  • Routes from key areas including Heavenfield, Cresswell, Amble, Kirkwhelpington, Rothbury, Craster, Warkworth, Bamburgh, Holy Island, West Mains, Berwick-upon-Tweed
