Klappentext Der Begriff familiär-bedingte Krebserkrankung steht für bösartige Erkrankungen, die zurückgehen auf bestimmte Mutationen, die vererbt werden können. Die Forschung auf diesem Gebiet ist im Zuge der Kartierung des menschlichen Genoms rasant fortgeschritten. Damit wird es möglich, Familien mit einem erhöhten Risiko für krebsfördernde Mutationen gezielt zu untersuchen. Zu diesen vererbbaren Krebserkrankungen gehört z.B. der Brustkrebs gebunden an Mutationen im BRCA Gen und der Dickdarmkrebs gebunden an Mutationen im HNPCC.
