Informationen zum Autor Steve Spawls is a herpetologist with a particular interest in the reptiles of East Africa. He caught his first chameleon at the age of six,, lost a finger to a puff adder when he was 17 and was co-author of A Field Guide to the Reptiles of East Africa a bit later. He has written many key papers on the herps of the region. Steve is an expert on the natural history of Kenya and was co-author of Kenya: A Natural History. Kim Howell (1945–2022) was professor of Zoology at the University of Dar es Salaam for more than 40 years, having studied the fauna of Tanzania since 1970. In 1988, Kim helped found the Tanzanian Wildlife Society. His many publications include A Field Guide to East African Reptiles . Harald Hinkel is a German naturalist specialising in biodiversity and conservation, who has also worked extensively in disaster relief, particularly in Rwanda. Michele Menegon is an expert on East African herpetofauna, having conducted research across East Africa since 1997. Currently based at Manchester Metropolitan University, he is a director of the PAMS foundation, an organisation dedicated to supporting conservation in Tanzania. Stephen Spawls is a herpetologist who specialises in the reptiles of East Africa, and especially Kenya. His books include Kenya: A Natural History and Handbook of Reptiles and Amphibians of North-east Africa. The late Kim Howell was Professor of Zoology at the University of Dar es Salaam for more than 40 years, having studied the fauna of Tanzania since 1970. Harald Hinkel is a German naturalist specialising in biodiversity and conservation, who has also worked extensively in disaster relief, particularly in Rwanda. Michele Menegon is an expert on East African herpetofauna, having spent most of his time since 1997 conducting research across the region.
